Zyda White was only 2 years old.
On September 18, 2010, her mother, Ashlea Collier, dropped her off with a trusted co-worker before heading to work. It seemed like a normal arrangement—one parent relying on another adult to watch a child for a few hours.
But according to investigators, things did not go as planned.
The woman who had agreed to care for Zyda reportedly left the apartment and went to work herself. Instead of remaining with the toddler, she allegedly left her in the care of someone far younger.
